THE BEACH

Mele Beach is arguably the best beach on Efate Island. It is a stunning beach made of rare volcanic black sand, which sparkles like diamonds in the tropical sun. The beach is clean and uncrowded.

Mele Beach is several kilometers long, with not a rock in site, literally sand for kilometers, perfect for swimming, jogging, saltwater soaking, and sometimes body surfing. There is plenty of shade to sunbathe, relax, and enjoy the spectacular sunsets. For world class snorkeling or diving head over to the coral reefs off of Hideaway Island. Their Marine Sanctuary is world class.
